Two Japanese Friends, One Shared Passion
Founded by two Japanese friends who grew up with ramen as a beloved part of their lives, Ramen no Wakusei was born from their shared passion and quest for the perfect bowl. This journey led them to create a unique ramen shop in Bratislava, blending traditional flavors with an innovative spirit. Their dedication and love for ramen culture shine through in every bowl, offering you a taste of Japan infused with personal stories, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to their culinary roots.

KAORU TAMAI

Born in Yokohama, grew up surrounded by Iekei ramen. He is the owner of Matsu Premium Tea & Coffee, specializing in the import of matcha and sake. In his younger days, he was such an Iekei ramen enthusiast that he thought no other type of ramen was necessary. After years of living abroad and pursuing the taste of ramen he truly craved, he and his friend opened a restaurant serving paitan ramen.
SHINJI TAKINE

Born in Nagoya, he was raised in a deep-rooted heritage of chicken, from Nagoya Cochin to tebasaki, and a spirit of “editing,” seen in dishes like miso-katsu, hitsumabushi, and Taiwan ramen that fuse influences into something unique. He later studied printmaking under Dušan Kállay at VŠVU, and, after years in Slovakia, he and a friend came to open a ramen restaurant.
Our Food Policy
At Ramen no Wakusei, we are committed to using only the finest ingredients to ensure both quality and taste. We proudly source free-range chicken from Slovakia’s trusted Top-Farm, guaranteeing fresh and ethically produced ingredients. Our ramen is crafted with care to balance authentic flavors while significantly reducing the levels of salt and oil typically found in traditional ramen. This allows even young children to enjoy our dishes with confidence, making our bowls not only delicious but also family-friendly.
